Sunday A Walks

A Walks

Sunday A walk and Tuesday A walks available.

We currently have organised walks on Sunday and Tuesdays only.

Sunday walks tend to start earlier and be longer. They may stop for a more formal meal at lunchtime although this will depend on the individual leader’s choices and where the walk is taking place.

Tuesday A walks are usually between 8 and 10 miles and normally start at 10.30 from wherever the selected start point is regardless of how far it is from Burnley. The furthest we are likely to travel is around 1 hour’s drive. This distance is reduced during the shorter winter months and many walks can start within the Burnley boundary.

Sunday A walks may be up to 2 or 3 miles longer than Tuesday walks as they start earlier. Due to a shortage of leaders there may not be a Sunday walk for each section every week.

Walk leaders are all members of the group with varying degrees of experience. There is no obligation on anyone to lead walks and it is up to individual members to put their names forward for the walk diary. More experienced members are always happy to help newer members if they want to lead a walk for the first time. It is not unusual for walks to be led by joint leaders as this helps take the pressure off for some.
